    (Nutrition)

I’m Sophie Purke, a redeemed, imperfect being driven by my calling. I’m a wife and mom to three lovely little girls; my family is my greatest joy. My nutrition journey was shaped by a decade-long battle with health issues during my adolescent years, where I discovered the life-saving and life-giving power of nutrition. Nutrition became my lifeline, restoring my health, vitality, and purpose. Today, I’m dedicated to using my experiences to help others, mainly specializing in pediatric and women’s health.

I believe my knowledge can provide hope and guidance to those facing similar challenges. With a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University (Go Frogs!), a master’s in clinical nutrition and integrative health, and I’m currently pursuing a doctorate in clinical nutrition, I have learned that I don’t have all the answers, which led to the dream of Fort Worth Health Collective—a collaborative, multi-disciplinary, preventative healthcare approach. My practice prioritizes evidence-based, personalized, and empathetic nutrition plans tailored to individual needs. I create measurable goals for sustainable change, considering lifestyle, environment, and psychological factors. This integrative and functional approach ensures comprehensive, interdisciplinary care beyond conventional dietary advice. I’ve learned that nutrition isn’t just sustenance; it’s powerful medicine. Health is multifaceted, and I’m honored to be a small part of your journey to optimal well-being. Serving you is a blessing.

    What People Are Saying

Working with Sophie Purke has changed the lives of our entire family. My husband and I have 6 children. I'm a stay-at-home mom homeschooling my children and working virtually part time. Before working with Sophie, my youngest 2 children, ages 1 and 3 years old, were not healthy, despite my efforts. They had orange colored skin, distended stomachs, small builds, horrible moods, and spent a lot of time crying throughout the day. They were on very limited diets because it seemed that everything I fed them led to making them sleep less and cry more. I was lost at how to help them. I needed someone with knowledge | did not have. I found out about Sophie through a pediatric nurse practitioner and we decided to give her a try and if that did not work to improve their health, we would consult back to the pediatrician. We began working with Sophie and within a week we were already seeing vast improvements in their moods. Within a month they were gaining weight and we added a huge list of foods to their diets. Three months later, they are not orange anymore nor crying all day but rather happy children. My 1 year old is now walking and babbling more so than he was ever close to before. My 3 year old is talking, potty trained, and so full of life. They have grown 1-2 sizes up in clothing as well. They sleep better, play better, and are overall very happy children now. It's like it's not even the same children. The growth of my two looks amazing on paper, and just proved with statistics that what we were doing was working to improve their health on top of their (and our entire house's) quality of life. My 3 year old gained 8 pounds and grew 1.5 inches taller. My 1 year old gained 7 pounds and grew 2 inches taller. This was in a three month time span! Working with Sophie was wonderful. She took my feelings as the mother and main caregiver into account. She also kept in mind that I may be needing help with my youngest 2 children but l have 8 people total to feed. She encouraged me, comforted me, and supported me so much through our time together. I heard from her at least once a week, sometimes more. She offered a plan to reach our goals together, recipes each week of delicious and nutritious meals, and truly wanted to know how my boys were doing. I was able to do what she recommended while running a busy household of active children, homeschooling, and family life. While it was still work on my end, she made that doable. I will forever feel grateful for the chance to work with Sophie. She has changed our home and our lives for the better in so many ways. It was such a blessing and I praise the Lord for her.

Sophie has been a lifesaver for me on my breast feeding journey. I'm a new mama and I knew I wanted to breastfeed when I found out I was pregnant. I anticipated challenges but didn't know how important support would be! We had a pretty smooth first couple of weeks but then encountered some challenges within the first month of my son's life. Fox started struggling with reflux that kept us up and worried all night long On top of that, I began to have a lot of pain with nursing due to us working through latching issues. I was so exhausted and overwhelmed. When I met with Sophie. we discussed making some changes to my diet and night time nursing sessions to combat the reflux. She also encouraged me to be patient with myself and my little baby as we both learned breastfeeding - after all neither of us had done it before! Sophie was wonderful as we talked through my thoughts and concerns about breastfeeding. She helped give me clarity as I ultimately decided to try making the changes we discussed before doing a tongue tie procedure. Just a couple of short weeks later and we had no issues with latch! We really just both needed some time to learn and I appreciated that Sophie encouraged us to give ourselves some grace while others were quick to suggest an invasive procedure that didn't end up being necessary. I know that saved us both so much extra pain. My sweet boy is now off any medications for reflux, we are nursing with zero pain, and he is growing like a champ! Sophie always checked in with us and I'm beyond grateful for the support and encouragement that helped us to have a wonderful breast feeding journey.

I'm 28 with Rheumatoid Arthritis and spent years trying to find a doctor who would figure out what was actually wrong with me and treat me. I finally found one that gave me a diagnosis, and then put me on the worst medication I have ever experienced. Subsequently I found a doctor who actually listened to me and have spent the last 1.5 years giving myself an injection every other week. Although, the medicine was working great, I couldn't help but think that this wasn't what I wanted to do for the rest of my life... there had to be another option. Then I found Sophie. She was an answered prayer! The first time we talked, I knew she was going to be exactly what I needed - Caring, passionate, go-getter, and honest. Within 3 weeks of solely focusing on the meals she gave me, my inflammation and the pain I always have in my hands, wrists, knees, ankles, basically everywhere had improved beyond anything I could have imagined! People noticed, my family noticed, and I felt incredible. I can't give Sophie enough praise. She's taught me skills and introduced me to a nutrition program that not only helps me focus on my all around health but a program that also TREATS my disease. She's provided me a new lifestyle that I can teach my daughter and freedom to live my life how I want to. Sophie has taught me to be empowered to control my symptoms, and actually take control of my illness, and feel like I am in charge of my treatment, not subject to a treatment.

I have such gratitude for the work that Sophie has done with me. In a world full of "diets", it was refreshing to meet someone so knowledgeable about creating meaningful lifestyle changes that help me feel my best. Sophie started by reviewing a detailed questionnaire with me, and I was shocked by how much she was able to determine before we even met. One of the first things she told me was that we needed to focus on a few key areas (namely sleep & a couple vitamin deficiencies) before even tackling anything else related to nutrition or exercise. It worked, and within 1-2 sessions I had the energy and motivation to target other areas. Each week's session included a recommendation of a new or refined focus area based on the previous week's challenges and successes. The way Sophie makes you feel is what really sets her apart. She's never rushed and approached each session with the intent of working with you to integrate small changes into the routines you already have in your life. She's not looking to add to the already stressful load we each carry. In my case, this included a demanding job, 3 kids & busy family with all the extracurriculars that come with both. She asked questions about my family's routine, upcoming travel, weeknight schedules, food likes/ dislikes and provided recipes that supported that schedule. She gave me tips on simplifying recipes and food types to combine when cooking (e.g., add nuts & seeds to other recipes!). She also spent time explaining the WHY behind the changes she was suggesting--why a particular food may not have settled well in my stomach and how to make it easier to digest, why a particular nutrient or combination of nutrients worked well together and the impact I should expect to see in energy and digestion patterns. She recommended an evening walk if my schedule pushed my dinner schedule later than planned or an early morning walk to assist with cortisol level regulation. Knowing the why made me want to implement the changes. While I know eating healthy and sleeping well have long term impacts, seeing the immediate short term impacts that Sophie's recommendations made gave me the motivation to continue making these lasting changes. Thank you, Sophie, for all you do!

I’ve been dealing with health issues since my third pregnancy in 2020 triggered an autoimmune POTS response. I was told it was a heart and nervous system condition for which there was no cure, just medications that barely worked for women who weren’t in childbearing seasons - so, not for me. For three years following, I had to learn to deal with the daily symptoms of POTS and navigate what life looks like with a debilitating condition. When I became pregnant again in 2023, my condition worsened - which was no surprise, but it was terrible. I was also having symptoms of severe anemia, and my iron levels were decreasing with each round of blood work. After speaking with Sophie Purke, she encouraged me to have a full iron studies done, where we discovered I had extremely low ferritin - a 5!- and every other measure was flagged as above or below the standard ranges. I was very depleted of iron and had no iron storage in my body. Sophie suggested going gluten free to help my body bind to iron, and also to possibly reverse my POTS condition. She believed it was all interconnected. After going gluten free the remainder of my pregnancy, as well as taking iron supplements and receiving iron infusions, I began to feel like a new person. I delivered my sweet baby boy in early January, and have not had symptoms of low iron or POTS since. I did another iron studies at my six week postpartum appointment and found that my iron levels were all in wonderful standard, normal ranges. My previous POTS symptoms of tachycardia and racing heart rate, irregular beats and arrythmia, frequent dizziness/blacking out and extreme fatigue, trouble waking in the morning, migraines, etc have disappeared. I feel like I am a new person, and have been given a chance at living life again in a way I thought was going to be lost forever. Thank you, Sophie, for the gift of your wisdom and insight into my condition and health. You looked at me and my health holistically, listened to me and my concerns, and saw the holes that needed to be tended to. Because of you, I am able to be the woman, wife, and mom I dreamed of being again- full of energy, able to move my body and do things physically again that I never thought I’d be able to do again. I couldn’t thank you enough for the way you have changed my life.

I believe in a balanced approach to psychiatric health through a model that integrates medication, wellness techniques, supplements, cognitive behavioral therapy, and thorough medical evaluation. I specialize in the treatment of aging and older adults, with specialty expertise in the field of geriatric psychiatry. I am also a member of the North American Menopause Society and have a specialized interest in the area of the menopause and the perimenopausal transition, especially as it impacts mental health. I very much enjoy the practice of clinical medicine and chose psychiatry because I wanted a career that allowed me to spend time getting to know my patients and understand their daily lives, not to have to rush through from on person to the next. I believe in treating a person, not a diagnosis, and never approach patients with a “formula” for how I will manage their care. Everyone is an individual and therefore each person requires a unique treatment plan and approach. I believe in a mixture of new cutting edge diagnostics and centuries old homeopathic medicine to give my patients the best care.

  • Dr. Stephanie Devlin

I’m Stephanie Devlin, a licensed therapist, a mom to twin girls, and someone who deeply values connection, reflection, and honest conversation. I know how complex life can feel when you’re holding a lot — whether for your family, your work, or others around you — and how hard it can be to find space to tend to yourself in the midst of it all.

In therapy, I offer a grounded, collaborative space where you can slow down, talk openly, and begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing. Many of the people I work with are navigating trauma, life transitions, chronic stress, or patterns that no longer feel aligned with who they are or how they want to live. My role is not to fix or rush the process, but to walk alongside you as we identify what feels important and work toward meaningful, sustainable change.

My work is informed by both extensive training and lived experience — including my own meaningful engagement in counseling over the years. That combination has shaped how I practice: with humility, empathy, and a deep respect for the courage it takes to sit across from someone and do this work. I earned bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, followed by master’s and doctoral degrees in Counseling, and I bring over seventeen years of leadership experience in education and counseling into my clinical work.

Alongside my practice, I’ve served as an adjunct professor in graduate counseling programs, mentoring and supporting future therapists as they develop their clinical voice. I’m also a certified yoga instructor, and when helpful, I incorporate mindfulness and body-based awareness into therapy, recognizing that healing often involves more than words alone.

Outside the therapy room, I find grounding in time with my daughters, movement, music, and shared experiences. These parts of my life continually remind me that growth is rarely linear — and that some of the most meaningful insights emerge in unexpected moments.

Taking the step to begin therapy can feel vulnerable. I still remember the weight and significance of walking into the therapy room for the first time. Because of that, my aim is to hold space for you, recognizing the profound discoveries that can unfold there.

I’m honored to contribute to the Fort Worth Health Collective team, where diverse perspectives converge to create transformative experiences, and where connection, collaboration, and thoughtful care are central to the work we do.
